The Way We Do Things In Our Home

Every home has its own rhythm.

Its own routines. Its own messes. Its own little things that only make sense to the people, and pets, who live there.

Some homes are spotless and quiet.
Some are busy and full of motion.
Some always seem to have toys under the couch, water by the bowl, paw prints near the door, and a dog following someone from room to room.

Ours is somewhere in there.

And that’s where Shepherd's Naturals began.

Built From Real Life

Shepherd’s Naturals didn’t start in a boardroom.

It started in a real home with two dogs who helped shape everything we believed a cleaning brand should be.

Franky — big-hearted, playful, and never far from where the action is.
Skippy — small in size, big in personality, and somehow always exactly where you’re about to step.

They bring joy, energy, routine, and yes, plenty of messes.

Water around the bowl.
Nose prints on glass.
Paw traffic through the kitchen.
Toys in every room.
The kind of everyday life pet owners know well.

That life didn’t feel like a problem to solve.

It felt like something worth building for.

We Wanted Better

Like many people, we reached for whatever cleaner was nearby.

Sometimes it smelled too strong.
Sometimes it felt harsh.
Sometimes it looked good on the label but didn’t feel like something we truly wanted to use around the home every day.

We kept thinking:

There should be something better than this.

Something thoughtfully made.
Something effective.
Something we’d feel good using often.
Something that fit a pet home without feeling cheap, harsh, or forgettable.

So instead of waiting for someone else to make it—

We started trying ourselves.

Kitchen-Counter Beginnings

Before there were bottles, labels, or website pages, there was a kitchen counter.

Mixing bowls.
Measuring cups.
Teaspoons and tablespoons.
Notebooks.
Paper towels.
Trial batches.
More trial batches.

We tested textures.
We adjusted scent levels.
We compared spray patterns.
We cleaned bowls, counters, floors, glass, and feeding areas.

Some ideas worked immediately.

Some absolutely did not.

But every batch taught us something.

And every step came from one simple standard:

Would we want to use this in our own home?

If the answer wasn’t yes, it wasn’t ready.

Daily Use Matters

We don’t believe the best products are only for special occasions.

The best products are the ones you reach for without thinking.

The bottle that earns a permanent spot on the counter.
The cleaner you trust around the bowl area.
The one that gets used again tomorrow because it worked today.

That’s the kind of product we wanted to create.

Not impressive once.

Reliable often.

We’re Not Trying to Be the Biggest

There are giant companies with giant budgets.

That was never the goal.

We’re not trying to be everywhere.
We’re not trying to be the loudest.
We’re not trying to win on gimmicks.

We’re trying to be trusted.

Trusted by people who care what they bring into their homes.
Trusted by pet owners who understand daily messes are part of daily love.
Trusted because the product works, feels right, and reflects care in how it was made.

That matters more to us than being the biggest name on the shelf.

This Is How We Do Things

We built from real life.
We test with intention.
We choose thoughtfully.
We improve constantly.
We make products we use ourselves.

That’s the way we do things in our home.

And now, we’re proud to make them for yours.

From our home to yours,

Scott & Gabie

Safe for pets. Tough on messes.
Made carefully for homes like yours.
